Harvest Mouse Exchange

This week we sent two female harvest mice to a collection in Leeds, in exchange we collected two males. These mice will be introduced to some of those that we have bred this year to form breeding pairs for next year.

  1. Love the picture – have you got any pictures of baby harvest mice? And how big are they when they are born?

    1. I’ll try to get some pictures of the next litter, but they can be hard to photograph as the mother generally creates a ball shaped nest with only a small entrance hole.
They weigh around 0.6g when born but grow quickly and will have left the nest and be able to feed themselves at just two weeks old.
