Masked Grassfinch

Masked grassfinches are another species that can be seen in our Australian finch aviary. In the wild they inhabit the dry grasslands of northern Australia where they feed on grass seeds.

Our pair arrived in July this year, hopefully they will breed next year. As with many finches the sexes look similar but the male can be identified when he performs his courtship display.
