Kookaburra Departs

Today the last of our 2011 hatched kookaburras was moved to Berkshire College of Agriculture where he will be paired with a lonely female. This male had remained with his parents for the last year and helped them to rear this year’s chicks. In the wild it is common for these birds to live in a family group working together to defend their territory and rear the next generation of young.
