Johnstone’s Chameleon Hatchling

We were delighted yesterday when one of our Johnstone’s chameleon eggs hatched after an incubation lasting 140 days at 23°C. As you can see from the photos the youngster is just a few centimetres long. This is the second egg to hatch from this clutch of eggs, several other eggs look viable so we are hopeful of some more hatchings over the next few days.

These babies are currently off show but all being well we’ll move them into the Discovery Room early in 2013.
