Red-billed Blue Magpie

Red-billed blue magpie

Red-billed blue magpies are colourful members of the crow family and are a similar size to our native magpie. Their long tails can reach over 40cm in length.

They inhabit mountain forests from the western Himalayas across to China where these opportunists fed on anything from insects and small mammals to fruit and seeds.

Our red-billed blue magpies can be seen in one of our woodland aviaries next to our breeding pair of azure-winged magpies.
