Silver Dollar

Silver dollarSilver dollar is a term used for several species of South American fish that are closely related to piranhas. However, unlike their feared relatives silver dollars largely feed on plants. Their strong jaws enable them to easily tackle most aquatic vegetation.

We keep Metynnis argenteus, the commonest species seen in aquariums. As well as pelleted food and flakes ours enjoy eating cucumber.
