Chilean teal can be found throughout southern South America and the Falkland islands, where they are one of the most abundant species of waterfowl. They are an adaptable species and have been known to nest under house roofs and alongside parakeets. The sexes look alike and the drake helps to protect the ducklings.
Although they aren’t the most colorful species of duck, they are hardy and peaceful. Our flock produces ducklings most years.
