The wet weather saw the park’s main lake rise to record heights. Happily, the level has now returned to normal.
We recently sent nine rare breed Boreray sheep to Wild Place, a collection operated by Bristol Zoo just outside the city.
The sheep loaded up safely and have settled well into their new home. When the keepers from Bristol collected the sheep they dropped off a group of golden mantella, a critically endangered species of frog from Madagascar that will join our existing colony. These will go on display for the first time when the Discovery Room re-opens at the start of April.
Between the downpours we have also begun work on the outdoor enclosures.
