Fancy getting up close and personal with the cheekiest mob in town? Tilgate Nature Centre offers Meet the Meerkat experiences, available to anyone aged six years old or above.
What does the experience involve?
During Meet the Meerkats you will feed the mob some tasty treats and speak to a keeper all about their care, welfare and mischievousness! Our meerkats are a friendly bunch and will happily sit on your lap during the experience – they often venture up to the head and shoulders too!
This experience takes place in a wheelchair accessible enclosure. Please let us know if you have any access needs in advance. If you or other participants in your party have any additional needs, please get in touch using the email below and we can discuss how we can facilitate your experience and any adaptations or accommodations we can make. As this is a close contact experience, participants must be able and willing to follow instructions and have a mental age of 6+ to ensure their safety .
How much does it cost?
Meet the Meerkats pricing is as follows:
£45 for 1 person
£85 for 2 people
£125 for 3 people
£165 for 4 people
This is for a 15 minute encounter, and is available Mon – Sat at 11:30am, 1:45pm or 3pm and at 1.45pm on Sundays. This price includes entry into the zoo for the entire day also.
Those participating in Meet the Meerkats must be aged 6+ and wear closed-toe shoes and long trousers or they will be unable to take part.

How do I book?
If you have any questions or to book, please email us at tilgate@crawley.gov.uk with the name(s) and age(s) of the participant(s) and with a contact number. You can pay over the phone using a credit or debit card. We recommend booking at least a week in advance to avoid disappointment. Meet the Meerkats cannot be booked on the day.
